D is for Dance

| March 1, 2014

D is for dance.  Dance as movement is art.  It’s strange how as children movements such as dance come to us so easily; however when we reach adolescence or adulthood many of us begin to feel strange or uncomfortable in our bodies.

Dance is to be conscious of movement—to be present in the body.  Aesthetically and physically, dance is appealing to the visible eye.  Dance must come from the heart—it is an expression of passion straight from the human soul.  While choreography must be learned, the movements themselves require self reflection and motivation.
