M is for monuments.

| April 2, 2014

This past weekend, I went on a bike tour of Washington D.C. with my cousins, who are from Kentucky.  Even though I have lived in D.C. for quite a while, I never took the time to take an in depth look at these historical monuments.  Although I knew a lot of the history of the monuments from my American History classes, being able to actually see the works of art first-hand was incredible.  I felt patriotic and grateful to live in a county that protects my freedoms. It is interesting that these dedicated works of art can have such profound and emotional effects.
