S is for seasons.

S is for seasons.  Spring is here and summer is just around the corner.  I am interested in the beauty of the seasons—the seasons of the year and the seasons of life.  When I think back over my life so far, I realize that I use the seasons of the year to frame the events of my life.  Perhaps this is a function of holidays and annual traditions, but I believe that it is indeed significant.  For me, spring and summer ignite a certain nostalgic excitement.  I feel like a little girl—excited to bask in the sun and spend time playing in the warm sand.  Winter is always difficult (especially this winter—I’m thinking of the polar vortex).  The seasons also make me think of school, and the way in which the seasons tend to dictate our traditional educational calendar.
