T is for Taj Mahal

| May 19, 2014

I visited the Taj Mahal in 2010 and found it to be the most beautiful manmade structure I had ever seen. It reminded me of pure ivory (See I is for Ivory). It was built for the prince’s “favorite wife” Mumtaz. It is a testament to the fact that great beauty comes from great sorrow. The Taj Mahal is a universal symbol of love– almost trite. I took this photo and purposely included the people coming in and out of the entrance’s arches, symbolically seeking this structure and perhaps the love it represents.
